Dear Momma

Momma, I see you. You who are exhausted from midnight feedings, dirty diapers, and rising before dawn for 5 minute showers and baby breath kisses. Momma, I see you. You who are exhausted from a long day of work and making school lunches at midnight, never ending loads of laundry, and rising before dawn to wake your littles with welcomed kisses, tickles, and smiley faced waffles. Momma, I see you. You who are exhausted from waiting up until midnight for your 16 year old to make it home from the movies, 10,000 dishes, and rising before dawn to threaten the kids with month-long groundings if they miss the bus. “Where’s my kiss?” you ask as they grumble their way out the door.

Momma, I see you. You who are exhausted as you cry in the shower when they cry over first boyfriends. Midnight worries keep you awake. Tears and kisses continue to flow through graduation walks, college send offs, and I do’s. Momma, I see you. You who are exhausted from dreaming of all of these moments only to hold none of them in your hands as another month passes. Your partner kisses your cheek and holds you as you cry. Momma, I see you. You who are exhausted from carrying only memories because death took your babies, teenagers, or adult children far too soon. Midnight fears and real life nightmares never cease. Rogue tears and invisible kisses attempt to fill the emptiness in our souls. Momma’s, I see you. All of you. Wishing you a love-filled Mother’s Day today and every day. Much Love, - The Graceseeker 💙❤️
